Overview
Lake Pledge is a community conservation product: pledges, participation and engagement around lake protection — a mobile client for a cause, not a dashboard for sensors.
The Challenge
Engagement products need to feel immediate. A pledge that does not persist, or a feed that does not update, kills trust in the campaign.
The Solution
I built the Flutter client against Firebase so pledges and community activity stay in sync without a custom backend for the first shipping version.

Engineering Challenges
- Kept pledge writes idempotent so a retry does not double-count participation.
- Used Firebase listeners for community activity rather than polling.
