Overview
KKOSH (Smart Possession Vault) is a production Flutter application for households and vehicle owners. It consolidates properties, vehicles, documents, warranties, family members and bill payments into one product rather than a set of disconnected utilities.
The Challenge
The product had to feel like a single home for possessions while talking to several backends: REST APIs, Firebase messaging, Bharat Connect / BBPS billers, maps, on-device OCR and deep links from SMS or store campaigns. The UI needed a distinct terracotta identity without sacrificing performance on mid-range Android devices.
The Solution
I structured the client as a tabbed shell (Home, Things, Family, Bills) with a dedicated add-loop for new vault cards. Home is bootstrapped from a BLoC that fans out property, reminder, challan and network-tip requests. Documents are captured with ML Kit text recognition and structured through an LLM extraction step. Bill pay goes through a dedicated BBPS module. Push, Crashlytics and analytics sit behind a small service layer so screens stay focused on product flows.
My Role
Architected the Flutter client: vault cards, BBPS bill pay, OCR onboarding, maps, FCM routing and Crashlytics.
Key Features
- Property-scoped home with care reminders and network tips
- Vault cards for vehicles, appliances, documents and warranties
- Vehicle challan tracking
- BBPS / Bharat Connect bill payments
- On-device OCR plus structured document extraction
- Google Maps for property and service locations
- Firebase Cloud Messaging with deep-link routing
- Biometric unlock and force-update gates
Technical Architecture
- Flutter client with a hybrid BLoC + GetX navigation/shell
- Repository layer over Dio REST endpoints
- Firebase Core, Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics and Realtime Database
- Feature modules: BBPS, OCR, notifications, session analytics
- Deep links via app_links for store and in-app routing
- CI for Android APK and iOS IPA on GitHub Actions
Product screens
Engineering Challenges
- Home bootstrap that waits on multiple APIs before revealing content, so the first paint is complete rather than a waterfall of empty cards.
- Notification routing that maps FCM payloads to specific vault cards and screens, including killed-state launch handling.
- OCR pipeline: camera capture → ML Kit text recognition → structured JSON extraction for vehicle and document onboarding.
- BBPS bill-pay module isolated from the rest of the app, including biller-specific field payloads.
- Offline-friendly local storage for session and card caches, with Crashlytics on uncaught failures.
- Deep linking so shared KKOSH cards and campaign URLs open the correct in-app surface.
Outcome
KKOSH is a shipping iOS and Android product (Play package com.swarnakarshanlabs.kkosh) covering the full possession-vault loop: capture, organise, remind and pay — without splitting those jobs across separate apps.
